Miss Kindra August - Food Manager

Hi my name is Kindra August and I was born and raised in Oroville. I have attended schools throughout Oroville my whole life and graduated from Las Plumas Highschool. I am currently attending Butte College and working towards my teaching credential.

 

I have worked at STREAM for a little over two years. The first year I came in as a behavioral aid for an individual student and later moved on to being a tutor and instructional aide for the Independent 6/7/8 combo class. I really enjoyed being able to go into the classroom every morning and see all the students' smiles and happy energies. Throughout the year I was able to help several students academically and emotionally which showed me that this is the career I am meant to be in and makes me excited for the future when I obtain my teaching credential. This new school year I will be taking over the food program as well as being an instructional aide for the 7/8 combo classroom. I cannot wait to see the new information I learn this year as well as seeing all the different students' faces every morning. 

 

Outside of STREAM I enjoy spending time with my three year old son, family, and our dachshund Winston. Family is a huge importance in my life and I love being able to travel and explore new adventures with them. When not with family I enjoy reading, hiking, and seeing my friends.
