Mrs. Stacey Gramps

Eighth Grade

I am very excited to be STREAM’s 8th grade teacher! My name is Stacey Gramps and I love being a Middle School teacher. I began my career as a substitute teacher where I was privileged to experience many different grade levels and classroom settings. I worked mostly in the primary and elementary schools, but had the opportunity to step in the high school setting a time or two. I am a lifelong learner myself and through substituting, coaching and being a Girl Scout leader, I found the joy of mentoring students and young people in exploring new opportunities and education. I later became a full-time teacher in a multiple grade-level classroom and have never looked back.

Education to me is not just reading, writing and mathematics. Education is an experience that includes hands-on exploration, questioning, sharing, respecting and finding the enjoyment of completing a task and trying even harder the next time. Education is something that students should crave not dread. Failure is also a part of learning and it is important that students understand that. In my classroom, my goal is always progression, teamwork, learning to work independently and most importantly, finding the love of learning.

Other than teaching, I enjoy spending time with my family and friends. I have three wonderful children, a husband who is also in the field of education, a pug named Molly and a chiweenie named Milli. My family is my world. We love swimming in the summer, paddle boarding and kayaking, fishing and enjoying any outdoor activity. In the winter months, we enjoy playing games together, especially card games. Most importantly, we love and support each other through anything.

Please feel free to contact me if you have any questions or concerns. I believe the educational experience is best served when both parents and teachers are committed to a partnership that focuses on a student’s best interests. I look forward to that partnership.
