Mrs. Linda Green - Office Manager
Before coming to STREAM, I worked 3 years as an Administrative Assistant for Switzer Associates Leadership Solutions, and 5 years working with parents, school staff, and students in various capacities throughout Oroville and Thermalito.
I was born and raised in Sacramento, CA, before my parents moved us to Foresthill, CA. I graduated from Placer High School in Auburn, and attended Sierra College in Rocklin for two years before marrying my husband Daniel and moving to Roseville. We moved to Oroville March 2005, two weeks after our second son was born. I was fortunate enough to have been able to spend 7 years as a stay at home Mom with my two sons before working outside the home. Volunteering at my son’s school is what sparked my love of education, and I can’t imagine myself anywhere else now!
I spent two and a half years with Butte County Office of Education as a Community/Parent Liaison at Oakdale Heights Elementary School, Wyandotte Elementary School, Central Middle School, and Las Plumas High School mentoring students, partnering with school staff and community organizations to increase parent involvement, and helped create many school and community partnerships. When my Grant funded position at BCOE was drawing to an end, I put in an application at the Thermalito Union School District Office, and was hired at Sierra Avenue Elementary School where I worked three years as a Kindergarten Paraeducator and Campus Supervisor. During my last year at Sierra, in addition to my Kindergarten Paraeducator position, I piloted a Character Education and lunch recess activity program. I taught character education lessons to all K – 5th grade students in the classroom, led games and engaged students in activities during lunch recess and was successful in significantly lowering the number of student citations and behavior problems on the playground. I was awarded Classified Employee of the Year by my Principal for my school site. In addition to working at Sierra Avenue, I was also blessed with the opportunity to work three years as a School Site Assistant for Chico State's Research Foundation in the Center for Nutrition and Activity Promotion (CNAP) department teaching garden education, nutrition education, physical activity, and cooking classes in the Thermalito, Oroville Elementary, and Oroville High School District schools, and BCOE's After School Programs.
When I’m not at STREAM, I enjoy spending time with my family and dogs, gardening, tending my chickens, and visiting friends. I love the outdoors, camping, fishing, kayaking, and hiking. I also love to cook, sew, crochet, and travel.
STREAM has been a very special adventure for me, and I am very excited to be a part the STREAM Team.
