Volunteering at STREAM Charter School
At STREAM Charter School, we deeply appreciate the dedication and time our parents and community members invest as volunteers. Your support plays a vital role in enriching our students’ educational journey and overall well-being.
To ensure the safety of our students—a top priority at STREAM—we have established clear procedures and requirements for all volunteers. These guidelines are designed to maintain a secure and welcoming environment for everyone on campus. All volunteers are expected to adhere to STREAM’s volunteer policies.
Under SB 848, our volunteers will be categorized as either supervised or unsupervised volunteers. Each is defined as follows:
Level I – Volunteers Under Direct Supervision: are individuals who work with students while under the direct and continuous supervision of a district employee at all times. They are not left alone with students.
Level II – Volunteers Cleared for Unsupervised Student Contact: Unsupervised student contact volunteers are individuals who may work with students without direct, continuous supervision and may be alone with students when assigned duties require it. These volunteers are typically subject to additional screening, clearance, and training requirements as determined by district policy.
Steps to Become a Volunteer:
- Volunteer Form: All volunteers are required to complete the STREAM Volunteer Form. This form is available in the school office, by emailing Carly Worley, or directly on this page.
- Check-In/Check-Out: Volunteers must check in at the front office each time they are on campus and wear a visitor sticker throughout their visit.
- Field Trip Chaperones (Overnight Trips): If you plan to chaperone an overnight field trip, fingerprinting is required. Please also remember to sign in at the office on the day of the trip. Completion of Mandated Reporter Training is also required. Ms. Worley will also contact you regarding the requirements.
- Parent Drivers: To drive students for school activities, you must complete the Driver Form, provide a copy of your driver’s license, and submit proof of current auto insurance. Fingerprinting and completion of Mandated Reporter Training is also required. Ms. Worley will also contact you regarding the requirements. Please email all three documents to Carly Worley at cworley@streamcharter.net.
Thank you for your commitment to supporting our students and being an active part of the STREAM Charter School community!
