At STREAM Charter School (SCS), we believe every student deserves a safe, supportive, and healthy learning environment—one free from bullying, harassment, or intimidation. Our commitment is to foster a culture rooted in mutual respect, empathy, tolerance, and acceptance across all campuses.
Creating a positive school climate is essential to students’ emotional well-being and academic success. That’s why SCS takes a proactive approach to preventing bullying and promoting kindness and accountability.
What Is Bullying?
Bullying is more than just a conflict—it is a repeated pattern of harmful behavior that can be verbal, written, electronic, or physical in nature. It includes:
- Harassment or intimidation
- Hazing or initiation activities
- Ridicule, exclusion, or extortion
- Spreading rumors or making threats
- Physical or verbal attacks
Bullying disrupts learning, creates fear, and causes lasting emotional distress. It does not belong at STREAM Charter School.
Key Characteristics of Bullying:
- Imbalance of Power: Bullies use their strength, popularity, or access to private information to harm others.
- Repetition: Bullying happens more than once, often escalating over time.
- Intent to Harm: Actions are deliberate and meant to hurt, embarrass, or isolate someone.
Whether it’s online or in person, bullying in any form is unacceptable.
