Mrs. Miranda Johnson

School Social Worker

My name is Miranda Johnson and I am a school social worker - New to the STREAM campus this year. I am super excited to be here to help provide social emotional support and advocacy for our students. I am a trauma informed, student centered, CBT and DBT informed associate clinician.

My background is in nursing, I spent 13 years supporting the pediatric clients at a local clinic. In 2016, after opening my home and my heart to children in the foster care world, I made a shift in my career towards social work and child advocacy work. I graduated in 2022 with my masters in Social Work from CSU, Chico and immediately began working in schools.

I served as a school counselor for one of the local middle schools for 1.5 years, before landing at STREAM. I have lived in Oroville all my life and most of my family is here in town as well. I am absolutely loving the transition to STREAM, and welcome the opportunity to have a more focused role in providing direct support to students. I look forward to working with your child and making progress towards their goals!

When I am not at work, I love to spend time with my children and husband, usually tending to our growing little family farm - goat, pigs, dogs, chickens, turkeys, cats and one mean old goose. It's my dream to incorporate animal therapy into my work someday.
